Muddy Waters

Historical Exhibit

in Westmont, Illinois

The Godfather of the Blues lived in Westmont from 1973 until he passed away in 1983. Mud referred to Westmont as "God's Country" and was eager to tell people from all over the world that he was from Westmont. Mud had a close friendship with then Mayor James Wright and would invite the mayor to his house and to performances in the area.

The Westmont Special Events Corporation and the Westmont Historical Society has worked cooperatively to create the Muddy Waters Historical Exhibit, located in Westmont Centre, One S. Cass Avenue, Westmont, IL.  The exhibit features many rare and one-of-a-kind artifacts associated with the blues legend. The exhbit includes rare photos, original concert handbills and posters, original albums, Grammy nomination plaques, fan club memorabilia, various suits that belonged to Mud, and more.
