Muddy Waters

Westmont's Most Famous Resident From 1973-1983

The Godfather of the Blues, Muddy Waters, lived in Westmont from 1973 until he passed away in April of 1983.  The Village of Westmont honors the blues legend each year with an annual Muddy Waters Blue Tribute, which is held on the closing night of the Taste of Westmont summer festival.  In addition, the WSEC along with the Westmont Historical Society hosts a Muddy Waters historical exhibit in Westmont Centre, One South Cass Avenue.  The collection features rare photos, old albums, classic memorabilia, and even one of his Grammy Awards.  For more information, contact the WSEC office at 630-829-9378 (WEST).
